Smile – yes, Jans, I think it’s the story behind each piece that truly fascinates me. You would do your nut over his collection. How I wish I was a multi-millionaire and lived in a big house. It would be littered with Bevan Van Druten’s work!

Yes G you’re right..the driftwood creations are spectacular, particularly the effect of having the skin stripped away and the muscles and tendons exposed giving the impression of strength and mobility. I also have a particular habit of collecting driftwood as you no doubt have noticed, and it’s the shapes, colours but also a story behind each piece which appeals to me…it was part of something else before a storm or flood moved it on..much like life huh??
