Gaynor you're so right. It's not only the big shows with big names and big title headings that require support...it's also the smaller town theatrical companies who probably produce highly entertaining and excellent shows that deserve recognition. Together we'll go to a show in George!!

How strange...I never worked with either yu or Fiona Ramsay and everything you wrote makes me want to go back on stage. I remember one acres years ago Vivienne Drummond (I think) (forgotten her surname) said that if you are an anctor or an actress you have to have theconstitution of an ox. How true. Because I loved the theatre and oved my work so much you just didn't think sick!!!!!!!And even if yu were you still went on. I also learnt my craft with Joan Brickhill and Louis Burke. Louis was the most amazing teacher. I remember in my first show with them, puking in the loo backstage , Robin Dalton poured some revolting white medicine down my throat and i was thrust onstage...and I was ony in the chorus ..and just 16. But that has helped me so much in life especially during my teaching career here in Israel.

I have not been able to come to grips with the hebrew language and as such theatre has been a dream ofthe past. Last year I took part in two slam poetry competitions - run by a young Amateur English group in tel Aviv...I won both....I was so pleased because I hadthought that perhaps "I had lost it!" But my late step sister proved right - when I expressed doubts about being able to act after such a long break she replied that she thought it was ike riding a bicycle - "you never forget." And she was right.

I would love to see the Marlene Dietrich show!!!!She was a clever clever performer.....did you know that it was she who put Pieter Toerien on the map. He was a young impresarrio and he went to Europe and managed to convince the elusive Marlene Dietrich to come and perform in South Africa. She was so very special!!!!!!!!!!!!

And congratultions on recveiving an award you so deserve. Bravo Gaynor. Please take care of yourself . You live in such a beautiful part of the world. Here in israel green is a colour that we value and enjoy so much. We are fast approaching summer when it doesn't rain...for six months - no rain - but we do have blue skies. And sun! And that is good!

Your comment about going to the theatre. You are so right and it is something that I hardly ever do here in israel and yet there is such a rich Artistic life here and also battling to be heard and seen.

Again - Mazeltov on your Award.

Love
