Wow Gaye - its true. you glide effortlessly! That brace has apparently done wonders. Also, the knock on strain on your back could not have been fun...
I discovered a couple of years ago that my right leg was 1cm shorter. An orthopaedic chiropractor then asked me if I'd had a traumatic accident. I said no. Then he said: "have you fallen or being struck repeatedly?" I said no, looking at his puzzled expression - when suddenly it hit me - I have been falling over doing prat falls in the annual Christmas show we do every year. Always on the right hip (can't fall the other way). When I added it up, I basically fell over onto the same side 70 - 90 times every year for the last 26 years! My right hip has been knocked forward and upwards, making it appear that my right leg was shorter. The things you do to get a laugh. Needless to say, I really try to be careful now and also do exercises to twist my hip back into place.
Take care - and enjoy walking!
Love,
David
