I once asked the ladies at the York Street office of our local weekly Newspaper if they would consider publishing a ‘Good News’ paper once a month. They smiled and answered that unfortunately that would probably result in the folding of the newspaper! Everyone wants the bad news.
How fortunate that we, as your Blog readers, are privileged to read Good News fortnightly by you Gaynor. Thank you so very much for the inspiration and smiles you give us.

Gaynor thank you for writing and sharing your humanely sweet story. I liked your photos too. First thing Ive read on waking to an overcast sky here in Chester, England and it’s given me a cheery feeling to face the day. Your tale has also brought back lovely memories of my trip to wonderful Cape Town a few years ago. Just might pop into the travel agents today and if I do it’s all because of you and your treasured orange IPad !

Yes, Ann, it certainly does. People are basically nice! It’s just that we only hear of the aberrant ones who murder, lie, steal etc. That was what forced me to tell my story. Imagine if we had a newspaper that only published good news!!!

Oh, David, I know those frazzled days all too well. It’s silly the way something small can just eat away at you! Often one needs to step outside of oneself to allow a clearer picture to emerge. I’m glad I was able to provide that ‘stepping out’ space!

Loved this story Gaynor! So different to my terrible iPad experience at Frankfort Airport! This type of thing happens so often in SA but, as you rightly say, we never hear about it. Guess good news doesn’t sell newspapers!
