I wonder how many of them have read your comment and nodded their heads, smiling in remembrance, Carry!
Des and Dawn’s songs were a favourite with me too.
With a smile I kiss your eyes

‘The Seagull’s Name was Nelson’ is one of my favourites! Glad that you enjoyed it, Romary.

Such wonderful memories. I taught my Pre-Schoolers “Nelson” every year for many many years !!! Apart from being big Des and Dawn fans since the PMB Royal Show Days in the sixties. I love bringing in everything that Nelson represents.

And Nelson Rohlihlala would be disheartened if he could see what was happening in our country today. As I believe Chris Hani and Joe Slovo and any of the great SA souls would be. In the wake of the worst xenophobia attack in history starting in Durban and moving to Jozi, I say roll on Nelson. Thank you Gaynor. A great memory.

We always did and still do enjoy Des and Dawn’s singing and lyrics. Thank you so much – a bright star you are. xx
