I am lying here in bed, my Cochlear Implants are in their box for the night and I am smiling! I know that tomorrow, they will be put back on, Tessa, and I will be hearing once more. You have known me from the time of my one hearing aid to this fully fledged bilateral Cochlear Implantee!!! A person who can now play her recording of ‘Thank you for the music’ over and over again, and hear it!
And yes, I still love it. Perhaps even more now!
With a smile I kiss your eyes

That is one of the things that my fall has granted me, Romary - an appreciation for being able to walk, talk, hear, see. Indeed it has made me so aware of what a wonderful thing life is.

Dearest Gaynor,
Thank you for your special kind of music. I have just sat down to eat breakfast - beyond tired after an insanely hectic production week culminating in the last 2 evenings of previews of our annual show in Tivoli. I opened my computer as I was eating my breakfast and there you were: I can't tell you enough how wonderfully you write and how irresistibly life affirming you are. I look forward to reading your "stories" and sharing in your feelings. Even in my current state of exhaustion (and pain - torn a ligament in my foot a week ago) I too am immensely grateful for my life. We never know what life will throw at us.
Lots of love, David
