It's the old dilemma not so? ....do we prefer the finished product like the chair in the shop. Or similarly the piece of meat wrapped in supermarket packaging because we can't handle justifying the process by which it gets there? Retail outlets are a balm to the sensibilities and conscience. I must say however that the chair in the picture is a stunning and unique product. I'd buy one if Lotto smiled on me!

Amazing! But . . . . I think I agree with you Gaynor - it sounds a bit cruel - just like those little feet of Chinese girls. I once read a book where it described the whole process and how painful it actually was.

Wow! this is certainly interesting and 'different'. Personally I prefer the way Nature allows the stems and branches to find their own way and shape. On the other hand, Gavin Munro had the insight to think of, and experiment, with a 'different' way. One big advantage is there there will never be two pieces alike!
